About me, eh? I have always hated these things because I feel as if I’m not that interesting of a person.  I haven’t traveled the globe, had anything life altering happen to me… Just a pretty average 24 year old girl trying to make it through university and all the rest of life.

I’ll start with my schooling since this is a blog to do with history class! I am a 3rd, 4th, 5th? year student. I have absolutely no idea at this point.  After high school, I took some time off  to figure things out, party a tone and make lots of mistakes. Definitely, and thankfully, got that out of the way early on. I went back to school in 2012 and did my Community and School Support Worker Certificate where I got hired on with the Kamloops- Thompson School District fairly quickly. Working as a CEA is incredible but I was bored. I felt as if something was missing. I soon realized, I needed more. I wanted to become a teacher. So, I upgraded some classes, applied back at TRU and started my credentials to go towards getting into the teaching program! The plan is to finish this year of studies in Kamloops then apply to the UVIC teaching program for fall 2017. Short term goals are to gain my degree and teach for a number of years then hopefully go back and do a masters in special education and behavior as that is my biggest interest. Eventually, I would like to do a masters of administration as well and become a principal but that’s a long ways down the road yet.

Outside of school I work at Red Beard Cafe which rules. We have rotating craft beer taps, farm to table kitchen and an awesome crew. I also coach adapted sports programs with the Canucks Autism Network and continue to work on relief with the Kamloops- Thompson school district. My partner, Alexis,  and I have a beautiful 18 month nephew who we spend most of our extra time with and when we’re not with him, we’re usually on the coast either watching the Whitecaps play or exploring craft breweries.  We love to explore our surroundings in Kamloops by hiking and we love to critique movies. These days, spare time is sparse for us though considering both of us are full time students. Alexis is in his last semester (LUCKY!!) but I still have a lot of school ahead me. Including one more history course.

I’ve never been much into history. In fact, I was so not into it in high school that I  skipped my final in order to get my nails done. But I am pushing through this class and I’m glad I have. I got to learn how to think differently and I was able to research a topic that I found pretty interesting. So here we are! History e-portfolio. In this website are many things from reading logs to my research paper to my general thoughts!

Cheers!!
